Slovenia is more than just Lake Bled. It offers some of Europe’s premier fishing in picturesque tranquil surroundings boasting natural lakes well stocked with fish to almost 80lb.
VIP Carp Holidays offer 3 main lakes and one very wild lake to offer something to suit all anglers’ requirements for more conventional holiday fishing.
The lake is 260 acres set in the heart of Slovenia is a virtually unheard of monster carp venue. The aptly named lake because of its many arms has stunning views that are surrounded by green pine trees from the forests.
You will also see plenty of Slovenian style log cabins in the distance, whilst you are relaxing and catching carp on your holiday in the beauty and peace so typical of Slovenia.
With just a short 2-hour flight to Ljubljana Slovenia airport from any UK airport you can be on the bank fishing within 4 hours of departure.
Big beds of bait seem to be the best feature as these are big hungry wild carp.
There is a very good head of fish with the average being 40lb+ commons with the biggest fish currently a immaculate common weighing over 78lb. We can only describe these fish as immaculate pristine fish with the lake holding some absolute monsters.
The depths range from 6ft to 30ft with an average of around 15ft.
There are plenty of gravel bars, plateaus and weed beds offering a variety of angling challenges.
The stock is even more impressive than the views, which is saying something!
Very few Lakes in Europe give you the chance to have a 78lb+ common on the bank. With as many as 10 fish currently over 70lb and several more over 60lb, 150 x 50lb, 450 x 40lb and 500 x 30lb, not to mention the uncountable amounts of stunning upper 20’s this is with out a doubt a top venue in its own right.
At around 100 acres in size this natural Slovenian lake offers some fantastic action and many fish to over 70lb.
The fish in this lake are growing at record rates each year and the lake currently has over 20 x 60lb+ fish, 50 x 50lbers and 150 x 40lb carp and hundreds of fish 28lb plus.
Catch rates between 5 and 10 fish per day is the norm here if you are situated in one of the prime areas (which we will of course make sure that you are) and again you will be blown away by the views over the mountains and surrounding alpine forests.
You will even see two fully-grown brown bears that were rescued after their mother was killed on the approach roads to the lake some years ago and are now held for breeding nearby to the lake.
Catfish well in excess of 100lb also reside in the lake.
Situated in the historic north of Slovenia near to Austria (Graz airport 70km) we offer a gravel pit that is fast ascending through the ranks with the fish piling on weight each year.
Unusually for Slovenia it is permitted to use 3 rods at this venue.
The lake currently boasts over 100 x 40lb fish, 35 x 50lb fish, 10 x 60lb with three fish that will soon be closing in on the massive 70lb mark.
240 acres of beautiful and wild-dammed lake!
Every fish from this alpine forest surrounded paradise is an achievement.
The angling will take you back to the roots of angler vs carp.
Fishing is allowed from boats, (feeding, dropping rods and moving swims) and the stock is formidable whilst still holding many surprises.
50lb + 15fish
60lb+ 2-3 fish
Many wild common carp between 25-35lb
Largest known fish, 65lb.
We recommend checking flight availability before booking with us.
We are happy to work the fishing days around your flights and if you would like to add an extra days accommodation to ensure that you have the full 7 days fishing because of late flying times then we are happy to accommodate you.
For instance if a flights arrives late on a Friday (or other) evening we would pick you up and take you to your pre arranged accommodation. (Hotel/Apartment/Campsite)
We would then collect you first thing in the morning and travel to the lake. You could then fish 7 days and fly home the following Saturday.
You could also do this on your last night of the trip and stay in local accommodation and have a night out around the stunning Lake Bled in one of the many bars and restaurants before flying home the following day.
All transfers are included in the price.
